Michael Lawrence, formerly known as A1 Piano Service, changed it's name due to public demand. We are a family business with over 200 years' combined piano repair and tuning experience, owned by Michael Suddaby and Lawrence Stark. Mike is one of the country's top piano technicians and Laurie is a top concert tuner and technician, specialising in concerts and school exams as well as home visits. Supported by other family members they provide a personal and flexible service to all their clientel.

Mike and Laurie are no strangers to the music business - both having been semi-professional musicians playing in a leading show band, performing at prestigious venues throughout Europe for the last 40 years.

Over 25 years ago they decided to bring their expertise to the Hull and East Yorkshire region by opening their store, which is now the longest-trading music store in Hull. As well as supplying new and reconditioned pianos at very affordable prices, they also supply many different types of musical instruments and sheet music.

We also have a large range of sheet music available in stock, catering for all musical abilities from beginner to professional and tastes from rock to Classical. And if you can't find exactly what you need we can order it in for you.
Our speciality is pianos, for which we provide a full service from tuning to fully re-conditioning in our in-store workshop. The pre-owned pianos we sell come with our own five-year guarantee and all our new ones come with a ten-year guarantee. Our highly trained and experienced delivery team will deliver your piano for free within a 60 mile radius of the store, and will be happy to quote for deliveries further afield.
