**Georg Kaun Upright Piano – History and Character**
I am offering a unique upright piano by **Georg Kaun**, crafted in Berlin. This instrument has been in my possession for over 40 years and was purchased in the 1980s from a workshop in Jaworzno (a photo with the workshop’s address is available). In the 1990s, the piano was moved to a fourth-floor apartment in a residential block in Kielce, where it served the entire family, including children learning to play.
The piano features a classic black high-gloss finish, maintaining its elegant appearance despite its age. It is equipped with **85 keys** and **2 pedals**, offering rich musical expression. The dimensions are: 147 cm in length, 61 cm in width, and 125 cm in height.
The piano has been unused for the past few years as the children transitioned to digital instruments. Currently, it requires tuning and possibly additional servicing. When purchased in the 1980s, the workshop owner mentioned that it was pre-war.
An intriguing anecdote associated with this piano is that during World War II, it was reportedly used by a commander of a branch of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp. While I cannot confirm this information, it adds a fascinating historical context to the instrument.
This is a rare opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts of antique musical instruments. The Georg Kaun piano, while needing some care, can become both a historical treasure and a beautiful addition to any interior. Please feel free to contact me for more details or to arrange a viewing.
