Description
Description de l’annonce
By itself, the Steinway Centennial D is an incredibly rare instrument, with only a few hundred ever produced. This copy, however, is one of a kind. There is only one other known Steinway Centennial D with this case style, which sold at Fontaine's Auction House in 2019 for approximately $170K including fees. While this piano is nearly identical, this version also boasts the cutting-edge PianoDisc Prodigy player system, allowing you to enjoy performances from the best pianists in history on this world-class instrument at the touch of a button using the included iPad.

Fully restored by Precision Piano Services in California, this piano recently received a full concert service and maintenance, as well as the player system upgrade from renowned piano technician Robin Hufford. The piano currently resides near Fort Worth, TX. Until his recent passing, this piano belonged to Kenneth Alan Hill, who treasured it as a focal point of his mansion, the historic Baldridge House.

A beautiful chair from the same time period is also included in the sale. Approximate chair dimensions: 28"H x 21"W x 20"D.

* The photos on this listing are from two sources, both depicting this piano at different times in the recent past. The last photo was taken in the mansion, before the player system upgrade was performed. The other set was taken a few years prior at Precision Piano Services immediately after the full restoration was completed. In both, you can see the old player control module mounted toward the front. However, the new system has no player components visible; because it is controlled via iPad rather than buttons on the piano, the beauty of the art case is totally undisturbed. Of course, many components of the player system are visible from underneath the piano.

(The photo of the piano on a concert stage is an actual picture of the piano superimposed over a photo of the stage so you can see it in a professional performance context)

All terms are negotiable. If you would like to view the piano in person, travel costs will be reimbursed up to $1,000 with receipts for the buyer of this piano. A 10% commission will be paid to the salesperson who secures the buyer for this piano. If the buyer finds this listing without the assistance of a salesperson or agent, the price will be reduced by 10%.
