The black colour and high gloss of this model are made special by an unusual veneer from the burr myrtle. Myrtle is a rare shrub growing mostly in the Mediterranean. It has a most interesting appearance with traces of black, and the sight of it conjures up many beautiful images. The burr myrtle’s colouring ranges from light brown with a golden tinge, through dark brown, to black. The common myrtle was consecrated by the Greeks and the Romans to the goddess of love. To this day a sprig of myrtle symbolizes beauty and youth, and is a popular feature in wedding ceremonies.
