Kemble Grand Pianos – Tradition and Modernity
Kemble pianos are the result of years of British craftsmanship in the field of musical instrument production. Founded by Michael Kemble in 1911 in Stoke Newington, North London, the company quickly gained reputation for its innovative approaches and unmatched quality in crafting grand pianos. In response to increasing demand in the 1950s, Kemble relocated its production to a technologically advanced factory in Bletchley. In 1968, a significant collaboration with Yamaha Corporation from Japan led to the establishment of Yamaha-Kemble Music (UK) Ltd. This partnership enabled the development of new, advanced Kemble grand piano models known for their dynamic response and tonal depth.
Kemble Grand Piano Models
Among Kemble's grand piano offerings, the KC-151 and KC-173 models hold a special place. The KC-173 model, measuring 173 cm in length, is manufactured by Yamaha in Japan. Based on the proven Yamaha C2 Conservatory model, it features an Ivorite keyboard. Importantly, all finishing and toning stages of this model take place in the UK. The KC-151 model, despite its compact size, offers deep, rich sound and exceptional mechanical precision, proving that sound quality doesn't always correlate with size. Both models exhibit remarkable attention to detail and craftsmanship, distinguishing hallmarks of Kemble pianos.
