The Gerh. Steinberg brand (also known as G. Steinberg), rooted in the world of grand piano manufacturing, has its origins in Berlin, where it was established in 1908. This German brand quickly gained recognition for the high quality of its instruments, allowing it to flourish in its early years. From 1993 to 1998, the brand was under the management of Whelpdale, Maxwell & Codd Ltd. – a London factory known for producing famous grand pianos like Broadwood, Welmar, and Knight. These changes introduced new perspectives and techniques in the production process.

In 2003, the brand was taken over by Music Brothers International BV., relocating the production to the Perzina factory in Yantai, China. Since then, Gerh. Steinberg pianos have been produced as a separate line, still maintaining European quality standards by using high-quality parts sourced from Europe.
