The instrument is designed on the basis of the C series and, although it undoubtedly looks great, Yamaha's engineers have placed great emphasis on sound and wide dynamic range. Selected materials and improved manufacturing techniques make the current GB1 version better than ever before. Among other things, the grand piano has improved the mechanics, and its frame has been vacuum made using Vacuum Shield Mold Process (V-Pro) technology. The GB1 piano has gained great popularity among musicians who appreciate instruments with full sound, typical of longer pianos, but at the same time with compact dimensions.
