Our acoustic pianos are designed in France, then assembled in our factory in Asia. Our employees are passionate about their work and are justly proud of making these superb pianos to French quality standards.
Subject to the rigorous quality control of the French engineering tradition, our pianos are manufactured with the greatest care and uphold the finest European traditions.
Our piano cases are hand-made. We use ‘medium’ wood for everything that is not a resonating element (e.g the legs) but natural glued laminated wood for all resonating parts of the piano. The sound of a Colmann-France piano stands out by its fullness and its warmth.
For the most part, the materials used in construction come from Europe, but also from Japan. Depending on the model, the soundboards are made from solid or glued laminated spruce harvested in China at altitudes of 1400m, or else in South Africa.
After being dried according to best practice, the spruce we choose proves it can meet the demands of the most exacting customers by delivering exactly what is expected of a soundboard that is truly worthy of the name.
Many of our strings are specially spun for Colmann-France by HELLER (Germany).
Our C-Tech action delivers top performance and has been subjected to extensive testing. It offers a very light, precise and responsive touch.
