Mr. Dennis Pereca began his career with the piano at the age of seven studying popular and classical piano and inspired by composers like Copland, Mozart, Chopin, Grieg, Joplin and Gershwin among others. By the time he was sixteen he was signed to Warner Bros/Reprise records, Capital Records and ultimately to the prestigious William Morris agency in New York City. Long before "American Idol" there was "The American Song Writers Festival" a national songwriters competition where Mr. Pereca achieved semi-finalist out of 80,000 song entries in a professional category. He has appeared or worked with world renowned artists and groups such as The Bee Gees, Melanie, Sha Na Na, Livingston Taylor, Doc Watson, John Hartford, John Mc Fee of the Doobie Brothers, Steppenwolf, Odetta, Janis Ian, Tom Waits, John Hammond Jr., Elephant's Memory, Janey Street, Eric Weisberg, Steve Gadd, Arlen Roth, Hugh McCracken, Richie Havens, Eric Anderson and Max Weinberg and performed in venues and arenas such as Carnegie Recital Hall, The Fillmore East, The Montreal Forum, The Chicago Auditorium, The Schaffer and Dr. Pepper Music Festivals in Central Park NY, The Troubadour in Los Angeles, The Capital Theater in New Jersey, Westbury Music Fair in Long Island, NY as well as working with arrangers and producers Jerry Corbitt of the Youngbloods, Grammy Award winning producers and arrangers Fred Mollin "(Sometimes When We Touch)" and Ron Frangipani musical arranger for John Lennon and Yoko Ono . Mr. Pereca's music and arrangements have been performed by Donna Fargo, Melanie, Janis Ian, including arrangements and vocals composed for her Grammy award winning album " Between the Lines. " His music has also been performed on the hit ABC television series "Eight is Enough." Always fascinated with pianos and how they actually worked, he began to study piano restoration under European master technician, the late Kalman Dietrich of Dietrich Pianos in New York City. He started The Pianotek Company in 1979, with the intention to specifically cater to both the novice and professional Steinway pianist seeking not only great value, but also sound and performance at more affordable prices.
