Gebruikte, Gaveau, III (3/4)

Here is the result of one of the long restorations of a concert model III (2m25) Gabriel Gaveau of 1924. This work will have occupied and captivated us for 7 months in 2020.
It is a rare (even unique) model entirely engraved and painted (in oil), with "Japanese" decoration.
Apart from the traditional restoration of the harmonic structure, mechanics and keyboard, we used the techniques of painting restorers to remove the old varnish, thus recovering the original colors and reapplying them before re-varnishing the whole in order to give it back the brightness of its early days.
The sound and the touch are at the height of its cabinetwork.
