Yamaha U1TA2
An authentic Yamaha acoustic piano
Acoustic piano
It is a piano in which when pressing each key a hammer hits the strings which generates a vibration that is transmitted through the bridges to the harmonic table that amplifies the sound and makes it audible.
TransAcoustic Piano
It is first and foremost a fully acoustic piano with all its benefits and the level of quality expected from a Yamaha piano.
Sometimes the powerful and unique sound of an acoustic piano can interfere with the daily life of your family or your neighbors.
Now you can control the volume! In these situations, simply activate the TransAcoustic mode. The harmonic table of the piano will continue to emit the sound, in this case digital, with all the nuances, resonances and body of the sound of the acoustic piano.
Enjoy a world of sounds
There are pieces created to sound on a harpsichord or on other types of instruments. With your TransAcoustic piano you can choose between 19 different sounds.
You can play with the one that best suits the melody. You can select the sound of a CFX, Yamaha’s best concert piano or organ, marimba, harpsichord or electronic pianos.
You can even use the sound from an external source, they will sound like acoustic instruments as they sound through the piano’s soundboard.
No speakers
With Yamaha TransAcoustic technology there is no need for external speakers. To explain it in a simple way, TransAcoustic technology turns the piano into a speaker in which the soundboard would be the membrane.
You can use the piano in TransAcoustic mode from the moment you receive it in your home, without the need for external speakers or cables.
A spatial projection of sound
The sound emitted from speakers sometimes sounds too directional since it is emitted from a single point.
In contrast, with Yamaha’s TransAcoustic system, we use the piano’s own soundboard to generate a broader, more natural sound. This technology turns the entire instrument into a resonator that produces a much more complex and rich sound.
Natural resonance of the strings
Thanks to TransAcoustic technology, the sound produced when playing the piano in digital mode is transmitted to the soundboard itself so that the entire piano behaves like a huge speaker.
The sound that is generated has the natural tonal characteristics of the soundboard. Its vibrations are also transmitted to the strings creating the same natural string resonances as those generated by playing the piano in acoustic mode.
This joint effect makes digital voices sound like never before. Never before has digital sound been so natural.
Combine acoustic and digital sounds
You can achieve more spectacular sounds by combining the acoustic and digital features of this piano. For example:
Selecting some orchestral strings as the background of the acoustic piano, or mixing the digitized sound of the concert CFX piano with the acoustic piano soun
