Kemble Upright Pianos – Tradition and Modernity
Kemble upright pianos originate from the rich tradition of the British music industry, dating back to the late 19th century. Founded in 1911 by Michael Kemble in Stoke Newington, North London, the brand quickly gained recognition for its innovation and excellent quality of instruments. In the 1950s, with the rapidly growing demand, the company relocated to a modern factory in Bletchley and in 1968 established a partnership with the Japanese corporation Yamaha, forming Yamaha-Kemble Music (UK) Ltd. This synergy enabled the development of new Kemble upright piano models that captivate with their dynamics and richness of tones.
Kemble Piano Models

Each Kemble upright piano is characterized by its exceptional, warm sound and subtle tonal play. Particularly noteworthy is the Classic (116) model – a compact upright piano with full-sized keys and a height of 116 cm, providing excellent sound quality while not overpowering the room. Similar in size is also the Oxford (115) model, equipped with Yamaha’s renowned mechanics, ensuring exceptional quality and precision in playing. The Oxford features a stylish appearance and solid construction, offering a rich and full tone. Also worth considering is the basic model K109, an ideal solution for someone seeking a higher-quality upright piano than an average beginner’s piano.
