INSANELY BEAUTIFUL STEINWAY & SONS CONCERT PIANO !
This impressive Steinway & Sons concert piano , a predecessor of Model K has a height of 138cm and was built in 1887. In the midst of the 'Golden Era' of piano building. In the year 1887, the World Exhibition took place in Amsterdam, where the best piano builders from Europe exhibited their pianos. At that time, this piano was Steinway & Sons' top model upright pianos.
This masterpiece was well cared for by its previous owners. The Steinway was partially restored in the 1980s. This included renewing the double-core bass strings and hammer heads. This was done very neatly. Original Steinway parts were used so that the character and value have been preserved. The sound is deep, full and impressively rich in tone. The descant is also distinctive Steinway. The original soundboard is in very good condition. This is how we like to see them!
Despite the earlier restoration in the 1980s, we have restored the piano more extensively so that it can last again for generations to come. The restoration has consisted of :
- Renewal of bass strings Quality Strings
- New steel strings with Paulello type 0 and 1 (for that time corresponding steel)
- Replace tuning pegs
- Revamping of hammerheads
- Keyboard restoration
- restoration keyboard
- Replacing felt, leather, input sheet (Steinway original felt and sheet)
- Restoration pedal system
- Restoration action
- Polishing the cabinet and polishing brass/steel hinges and hardware.
