About the brand
Kaunus, an exclusive brand founded by Zayda Jiménez, was established with disruptive innovation at its heart. It was created due to the need to magnify the beauty of the piano and shine a light on the importance of a bench in a musician’s creative and interpretative process. Nowadays some of the most prestigious piano dealers are finding through Kaunus an alternative to improve and complete the experience of their most demanding customers.
Every bench produced is a collector’s piece, given that they are all designed with the passion, care and tenacity of someone who loves music and manufactured in Spain using handcraft techniques, along with top-quality materials and finishes. Every Kaunus is an exclusive, numbered piece accompanied by its corresponding Certificate of Authenticity.
How is a designer piano bench made?
The owner can choose the finishes, making each bench a unique piece, handmade for him. Every hydraulic piano bench is designed on demand, and the height of the bench where the client usually play is the first question asked to start customization.
This handmade and personalized manufacture means that the production of a Kaunus takes more than 10 weeks of work.
Furthermore, Kaunus has opted for innovation by developing a height regulation system via gas spring, registered under the name KHAS: Kaunus Height Adjustment System which guarantees a precise height adjustment incorporating an innovative device which displays the precise position selected by each musician. A convenient and easy-to-use height adjustment mechanism.

How did your company come about?
The piano has been a faithful friend that has always accompanied me in my life since I was 6 years old. I started playing with rented pianos and dreaming of having some day my own grand piano. My passion for the piano and my daughters starting out in music were the reasons to fulfill that dream as a child.
I remember and still feel the emotion when the dreamed piano came home: how his elegant beauty imposed, his mere presence filled any space, however… the stool that should have been the perfect match did not accompany its beauty. That was the trigger for KAUNUS to be born: something as beautiful as my instrument should be surrounded by more beauty.
What makes your piano benches special?
Design and customizacion. There are a completely different benches than the ones we are used to see improving the beauty of the piano and matching with every interior design.
Where do you sell products and who mostly buy form you?
U.A.E., Switzerland, Germany, UK, France, U.S.A… Our clients are usually interior designers, piano retailers, private clients.
