Schimmel – what kind of brand is it?

For years, the German Schimmel brand has been known for producing grand and upright pianos of sensational quality. It is a family-owned company whose roots go back to 1885, which is when Wilhelm Schimmel produced the first piano in his Leipzig factory.

Although brand management has since passed from generation to generation, the company’s leading position in the market has remained unwavering. Since 2003, the Schimmel family of instruments has been expanded to include additional models and the manufactory’s motto has been Quality will prevail. These words perfectly reflect the drive for innovation and the passion that characterises the Schimmel brand.

What distinguishes Schimmel pianos?

Schimmel upright and grand pianos are recognised all over the world for their excellent sound and top-quality materials. In production, the brand uses only carefully selected wool and more than 300-year-old wood, which undergoes numerous seasoning processes. The grand and upright pianos created in this way are the fruit of excellent craftsmanship, incredible precision and a sense of style.

The founders of the Schimmel brand have had one goal in mind all these years – they wanted to win with quality. Indeed, the instruments from this family-run manufactory have been awarded many times; they are the most awarded pianos of German manufacture. The most eminent musicians have written favourable reviews about them.

It was a great pleasure to play tonight on this fantastic piano. It really was a great evening

My Schimmel, a grand which takes me off. Thank you in friendship.

Original design has always been a hallmark of Schimmel, both the classic and the more extravagant ones presented in the Art Collection series. Its flagship models are the Schimmel Glas i Pegasus. The former is made of transparent acrylic glass, while the latter, designed by Luigi Colani, is a kind of variation on the classic piano form.

  2. Serial number 229430

    Dear Sirs and Mesdames

I have the above numbered piano. It is in really good condition.

I had a brain injury a year ago. My daughter packed up my garage (where the piano was stored). The bolts (and all of the metal fixings) were stored in a jar on a shelf in the garage.

Now I am able to put my piano together. But my daughter did not pack the bolts and other fixings.

I need a complete kit of bolts (and other metal fixings- if any!)

Couuld you let me know how much they cost and if you have any.

In anticipation, thank you. (The places where they sell Schimmel pianos in Australia do not have any!)

    Regards
